  • 1997

    SK&T is Founded

    With only $300 in her checking account and an abundance of grit, Kathy Lawson launches SK&T as a bootstrapped startup from the basement of her home. The company name, SK&T, holds a special meaning: “S” represents Steve Lawson, Kathy’s husband; “K” stands for Kathy; and “T” honors her son, Travis.

  • Strategic Partners

    SK&T solidifies key strategic partnerships with Zebra, Honeywell, and ScanSource.

    1998

  • 2000

    New Customers

    SK&T experiences significant growth, landing marquee clients such as Alcatel, Celestica, Avaya, and HP.

  • Inventory Cabinets

    SK&T teams up with SupplyPro to launch AIMS (Automated Inventory Management System), a custom-built cabinet that automates inventory management control of labels and supplies for Celestica Americas and Celestica Monterrey, Mexico.

    2001

    Company Tagline

    The SK&T team moves into their first office space in Parker, CO, and launches the company tagline, “Leading the Industry in IDeas and Solutions.”

  • Breaking Ground

    SK&T outgrows its office and begins construction for a new office building in Parker, CO.

    2004

    WBENC

    SK&T receives WBENC (Women’s Business Enterprise National Council) certification for being a woman-owned and operated business.

  • Memphis Warehouse

    SK&T opens its first warehouse in Memphis, TN, to support key clients like Avaya with custom corrugated boxes and pallets.

    ColoradoBiz Magazine Award

    SK&T is ranked #27 in ColoradoBiz Magazine’s Top 100 Women-Owned Companies in 2009.

  • Patient ID Wristbands

    Hospitals start transitioning from laser printing to thermal-based printing methods. SK&T capitalizes on this growing healthcare trend, becoming the first Intermec partner to deploy patient ID wristband pilot programs to seven Colorado hospitals, helping secure SK&T’s footprint in healthcare for years to come.

    Intermec Award

    Intermec awards SK&T with the North America Printer/Media Partner of the Year award in 2011.

  • Rebranding

    SK&T undergoes a rebrand, introducing a modernized logo and updates the company tagline to “It All Starts With a Label.”

    Food Traceability

    SK&T implements a food tracking and traceability solution for Hirakata Farms in response to a listeria outbreak in Colorado.

  • Business Solutions Magazine

    SK&T featured in Business Solutions Magazine for 21% sales increase in healthcare printing solutions.

    SK&T is recognized in Business Solutions Magazine for delivering innovative data-capture and barcode printing solutions, achieving a 21% sales increase in the healthcare vertical.

    Great American Beer Festival

    SK&T supplies RFID tags to assist breweries in tracking and identifying hundreds of kegs during the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) at the Colorado Convention Center.

  • Copper Mountain Ski Resort

    SK&T partners with Copper Mountain Ski Resort to replace their outdated devices with Honeywell’s CN70 mobile handhelds, enabling staff to scan over 140,000 lift tickets daily under harsh winter conditions.

    SK&T relocates operations to northern Colorado and settles into a new office in Windsor, CO.

    SK&T develops its first in-house inventory management application, Scan IM, debuting the software’s initial release at the GS1 Connect show in Denver, CO.

    SK&T receives Partner Excellence Award at Honeywell's Partner Conference in Austin, TX.

  • Tough Mudder

    Team SK&T conquers 2024 Tough Mudder in Fort Carson, CO

    Team SK&T trades their office attire for mud-soaked shoes (and a few minor bruises) to conquer the Tough Mudder at Fort Carson, Colorado.
